In the framework of the extensive cooperation between the Budapest University of Technology and PEMÜ Plastic Processing Co. Ltd and in view of the success of last year’s visit, the company once again hosted students studying at the University’s Faculty of Chemical Engineering on a professional study tour.
Similar to last year’s event, the factory visit took place this year as part of a full-day professional program, on November 22, 2023. Under the guidance of Dr. Zoltán Demjén, the students of the university were able to learn about the practical application of plastic processing technologies in the plants of PEMÜ Ltd, during which they could observe the injection moulding, foaming, extrusion, pressing and assembly processes, and they were also able to gain an insight into the operation of the accredited laboratory at PEMÜ. After visiting the plants, the students were able to get to know the company’s uniquely developed, integrated digitization system, which, along with simultaneous technological data processing, enables the optimization of production, increased efficiency, and serves as the basis for many further developments. At the end of the professional program, we held an informal discussion with the students about their experiences in the framework of a buffet reception, during which they had the opportunity to ask questions from Elvira Hajdárné Molnár, the President CEO of PEMÜ Ltd. The students turned with great interest, not only to the automatic carpet production cell, which listed the most modern achievements of the present age, but they were also specifically interested in the history of PEMÜ.
