For the tenth time this year, the Hungarian Plastics Industry Association organised a conference titled Man-made material – the material of the XXI. century in the Banquet Hall of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences. The central topic of the conference this year was polymer composites, reinforced plastics. The event began with the opening speech of Prof. Dr. Tibor Czigány, rector of the Budapest University of Technology and Economics. Dr. Gábor Szebényi, associate professor of the BME Department of Polymer Technology, Balázs De Rivo, development manager of ZOLTEK Zrt., Dr. Zoltán Mezey, managing director of Flaar Kft., and Gergely Lipóczi, commercial director of eCon Engineering gave a presentation at the meeting. As the closing chord of the conference, Elvira Hajdárné Molnár, president of the Hungarian Plastics Industry Association, presented the HPIA Innovation Award in a ceremonial setting, which was received in 2023 by Péter Jancsó, president of Graboplast Zrt., in recognition of his decades of work in the plastics industry. As in previous years, employees of PEMÜ Zrt. participated in the organisation and management of the event as helpers.
