The Hungarian Scientists biographical book series has been expanded with a new volume. Titled Optimism and Science, the latest publication presents the life and career of Professor Magdolna Csath, economist, university professor, and researcher.
The series, which has already portrayed the careers of more than twenty distinguished Hungarian scientists, now features Professor Magdolna Csath, offering readers an insightful overview of her remarkable professional journey, enriched with numerous personal stories and experiences.
In the foreword to the book, Mihály Varga, Governor of the Central Bank of Hungary, highlights that throughout his acquaintance with Professor Csath, he came to know a dedicated professional who has always expressed her views openly, regardless of how they might be received, while also possessing the ability to recognise opportunities even in challenging situations.
He also notes that her professional observations have always been driven by constructive intentions, with the aim of finding solutions to complex issues. Her contributions to professional debates have consistently been guided by fundamental values and principles, including social justice, as well as the importance of stability, predictability, and trust in the economy.
